History of television as told by the pioneering broadcasting company. The Story of Television illustrates various television firsts, such as the first successful picture tube and the first experimental station. RCA chairman David Sarnoff describes the company’s early research. The polished film uses animation to explain how visual information is encoded and concludes with a color sequence introducing RCA’s new color television equipment. Howard Thompson called The Story of Television “a real surprise and a treat.”
